Assorted Characters is a three-volume zine of names and other found text collected by the team at A Hundred Monkeys, designed by Mark Pernice and Nick Sheeran.
When you name things for a living, you become acutely aware of the vast verbiage all around you. All the world’s a page: storefront signage, trucks on the highway, products in the grocery aisle, promotional paraphernalia. Sometimes they really make you wonder, who could possibly be responsible for such syllables? Before you know it, you’ve collected a couple thousand photographs documenting the words that made you look twice. Assorted Characters is a record of these double takes.
